Brian Cannon

Brian Cannon is a longtime democracy reformer with over a decade of non-profit leadership, community building, and advocacy for state policy issues.  In addition to his most recent work as Campaigns Director at the Institute for Political Innovation, he led Virginia’s bipartisan redistricting reform effort as Executive Director of OneVirginia2021 for six years - an effort that successfully amended the state constitution to end partisan gerrymandering.

Brian is a double William & Mary graduate - earning a degree in government and focusing his law school work in election law.  In a bit of foreshadowing for his current role, as an undergraduate, he implemented ranked choice voting for student government elections.
