Maeve Jones - Executive Director of the Poe Museum, “Happy Halloween! A century of the Poe Museum in RVA.”

The Poe Museum or the Edgar Allan Poe Museum, is a museum located in the Shockoe Bottom neighborhood of Richmond, Virginia and is dedicated to American writer Edgar Allan Poe. Though Poe never lived in the building, it serves to commemorate his time living in Richmond

Maeve Jones is the Executive Director of the Poe Museum in Richmond, Virginia. Maeve is a nonprofit professional with experience in fundraising, historic interpretation, and administration. Academic background in literary history and theory. Passionate about public history!

Before joining the Poe, Maeve worked in public history and fundraising at Monticello, the Virginia Museum of History and Culture, and the Richmond Performing Arts Alliance.   Maeve holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) with Distinction in English Literature from the University of Virginia as well as a master’s degree in 19th century literature from the University of Virginia.
